Primary Purpose

The Maintenance Assistant / Trailer Cleaner is responsible for ensuring all trailer equipment is thoroughly cleaned, inside and outside, in addition to restocked with applicable supplies before delivery to customer sites.

Essential Functions

  • Clean exterior of trailers and related equipment using appropriate tools and resources provided

  • Thoroughly clean interior of trailers and related equipment including toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors, walls, floors, mats, trash cans, etc. using equipment provided

  • Replenish supplies including toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags, urinal screens, and other items

  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and stocked for efficient operation

  • Apply appropriate tags upon completion of cleaning to designate trailers that are ready for delivery or need repair

  • Escalate and report any problems found on trailers throughout the day to the Repair Specialist and/or Supervisor

  • Complete trailer maintenance checklist for each trailer cleaned to ensure all components are covered

  • Follow United Site Services safety rules: utilizes protective clothing and equipment, reports safety hazards and incidents to supervisors

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of various cleaning products and when to use them

  • Ability to clean and disinfect various surfaces

  • Knowledge of safety guidelines when working with chemical cleaners

  • Good communication skills

  • Time management skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Forklift driving experience is a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Sit while operating equipment (such as a forklift) and stand while servicing products

  • Use hands and fingers to handle, control or feel objects tools or controls

  • Repeat the same movements

  • See details of objects that are less than a few feet away and also at greater distance

  • Speak clearly so customers can understand

  • Understand the speech of another person

  • Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them

  • Be able to walk up to 30 minutes at a time without exertion

  • Enter and exit equipment by stepping and kneeling

  • Lift up to 40lbs from your waits to your shoulders

  • Lift 30lbs from the floor to your head

  • Crouch and squat

  • Push 150lbs and pull 150lbs horizontally

Salary Range

$12.50 – $18.75 / hour

At United Site Services, our salary ranges reflect the minimum and maximum base pay for the posted position applicable to all locations across the US. Within the posted salary range, individual pay is determined by the geographic location, job related skills, experience, education, and certifications. Our total compensation package includes base pay plus a comprehensive benefits program.
