Primary Purpose
The Senior Vice President Operations (SVP) will be a strategic and visionary leader with proven expertise in profit and loss (P&L) management, operational leadership, sales growth and go to market strategies, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and financial acumen. This role demands a proactive leader capable of driving operational and sales excellence and transformative growth in a very competitive landscape.
This position will be leading the West Region which inlcudes Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming.
Essential Functions
• Strategic Leadership : Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives. Lead large-scale operations across multiple states, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and scalability.
• P&L Management : Assume full ownership of the P&L for the region. Monitor financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions to ensure profitability and sustainable growth.
• Sales Growth : Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop and execute growth strategies. Drive initiatives to increase market share, enhance customer satisfaction, and expand into new markets.
• Mergers & Acquisitions : Lead M&A activities including identifying opportunities, conducting due diligence, negotiating terms, and overseeing integration processes to ensure seamless transitions and value creation.
• Financial Acumen : Provide robust financial oversight, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Utilize financial insights to guide strategic decisions and operational improvements.
• Operational Excellence : Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. Implement best practices, streamline processes, and leverage technology to drive performance.
• Team Leadership : Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence. Ensure ongoing development and succession planning for key roles.
• Stakeholder Management : Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and internal teams. Communicate effectively to align goals and drive collaborative success.
• Risk Management : Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard the company’s interests and ensure business continuity.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in operations and sales, with a significant portion (7+) in a senior executive role overseeing large geographic territories.
• Minimum 4-Year/Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field of study
• P&L Expertise : Demonstrated experience in full P&L ownership, with a track record of driving financial performance and achieving profitability targets.
• M&A Experience : Proven ability to lead and execute M&A transactions from start to finish, including post-merger integration.
• Sales Acumen : Strong understanding of sales strategies and growth initiatives, with a demonstrated ability to drive revenue and market expansion.
• Financial Skills : Deep understanding of financial principles and metrics, with the ability to leverage financial data to inform strategic decisions.
• Leadership : Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage diverse teams. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Problem-Solving : Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset and a results-oriented approach.
• Industry Knowledge : Knowledge of route-based, waste, or transportation industry trends, challenges, and competitive landscape is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license is required in cases where travel off-site is needed.
• Travel requirement is approximately 50% - 75%
• May have access to a company pool vehicle, if available, to travel to off-site locations when necessary. If no pool vehicle is available, the associate will be eligible for mileage reimbursement, as per current IRS guidelines or reimbursed for rental vehicle expenses incurred

Salary Range
$190,000.00 – $360,000.00 / year

At United Site Services, our salary ranges reflect the minimum and maximum base pay for the posted position applicable to all locations across the US. Within the posted salary range, individual pay is determined by the geographic location, job related skills, experience, education, and certifications. Our total compensation package includes base pay plus a comprehensive benefits program.
